Res. 121, 139-145.【注意這一篇:Boutrous不知是否為了讓他的研究有道理,提出了奇特的gating in[MMN]–gating out[P50/N100/P200]說法】When including all subjects (N=24) a negative correlation was found between the P50 gating and the amplitude of the MMN. Test–retest reliability was moderate to high for P50, N100, and P200 latencies, amplitudes, and difference scores, low to moderate for N100 and P200 gating ratios, but low for P50 ratio ( [Rentzsch et al., 2008] and [Fuerst et al., 2007]).

Electrophysiological recording  EEG recordings were made from the vertex referenced to the left ear lobe. Electro-oculographic activitywas recorded between the lateral canthus and superior orbit of the right eye.

P50與symptom dimension!

2005年,一群法國人發現比起PANSS負性總分低的55位schizophrenia patients,PANSS負性總分高的31位schizophrenia patients具有significantly increased T/C ratios[P50 inhibitory gating deficit is correlated with the negative symptomatology of schizophrenia. Psychiatry Research. 136 27-34]

不過同年New Mexico研究團隊(MXHuang, Michael Weisand)同時做ERP(P50)與MEG(M50),最後發現Negative symptom與P50無關,但卻與M50有相關      M50 sensory gating predicts negative symptoms in schizophrenia. Schizophrenia Research 2005 Mar 1;73(2-3):311-8.

一樣是用MEG:這一篇1998年[Resersal of cerebral asymmetry  in schizophrenia  measured with magnetoencephalography]認為reversed left-right asymmelry與PANSS general psychopathological score有相關

P50 的anatomy

雖然以往的動物與人類手術研究認為auditory cortex, prefrontal cortex and hippocampus in mediating the sensory gating response,這一篇由新墨西哥州Mind Research Network的作品The neural networks underlying auditory sensory gating. Neural Image 2009 44(1)2009, Pages 182-189使用 fMRI認為P50
